Service Description
Children and teens ages 6-18 are invited to join us and engage in the creation of 2-3 projects, both by hand sewing and using the sewing machines. Our program focuses on teaching the fundamental skills of sewing. New classes commence on the first Sunday of every month, running from 2 pm to 5 pm. These classes are ongoing on a monthly basis, consisting of 4 sessions, each lasting 3 hours, providing a total of 12 hours of instruction. Lunch, Yoga and Sewing Join us and embark on your sewing journey today! Also, lunch is provided and includes all materials to complete the basic projects. For the first month the youth or teens learn the basics of sewing and how to operate the sewing machine. In the first month they will make a stuffy owl and one -two other items. usually, a tote bag or coin purse and a skirt. Each youth or teen taking the classes are on their own individual journey. Through our classes they learn leadership and also self-care. You can also Pay-It-Forward for someone from an underserved youth from North or South Minneapolis to come and sew.
